DeVision

Demographic vision -

is a public online database on the demographic situation and movement of population in developed countries. This database has a user interface in English, French and Russian languages; and it is meant for the research activities and training courses on demography and population problems issues.

The DeVision is a unique database that provides the access to primary data and indicators of population movement developed over a long period (from the origin of modern demographic statistics and up to date). The indicators in the database are selected and sometimes computed by experts, so their values may not necessarily the same that those from the official publications of national and international statistical agencies, so when quoting you are requested to refer to the DeVision database.

To view more details about the project, please, go to the special page "About the project" (only in Russian for a moment).

Recommendations for use of the database:

Information can be materialized under the form of statistical tables and graphs. The geographical mapping of information is currently available only for European countries and the period after 1946.

To facilitate the search of information and indicators the country and indicators are united in more or less homogeneous groups (eg, Eastern Europe, fertility and marriage etc.). To make easy a comparative analysis the system offers several classifications by geographical and geopolitical criteria adopted by various academic and international organizations.
